In the four years since the Manning, SC native wowed American Idol judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson with his over the top antics and solid vocal delivery, he has taken the South Carolina media landscape and music circuit by storm. Jeffrey performed the R. Kelly and Celine Dion duet “I’m Your Angel” with his sister Michelle Lampkin in tow.
Garnering his winning ticket to the Hollywood round of competition and placing in the top 72 from thousands of Idol hopefuls, he bowed out of the competition shy of making the cut as one of the top 24. Lampkin’s Idol audition went viral, garnering over 150,000 collective views on YouTube.
The then local singer/musician shot to regional celebrity status, making countless on the media circuit outlets throughout North and South Carolina, released his debut single, “Finish It” at radio, performing for Columbia’s Black Expo to performing to a crowd of nearly 25,000 as the opening act for US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton during her presidential campaign run at the Charlotte Bobcat’s Arena in North Carolina in 2008.
Capitalizing off his success since Idol, he joined Good Day in 2009 and has interviewed countless local persons of interest to national recording artists, BET Network’s Sunday Best alum Jessica Reedy to Grammy winning artist Ann Nesby.
With Good Day spring-boarding him to his own 30 minute weekly show, The Jeffrey Lampkin Show airing on Sundays at 8:30 AM on WACH FOX 57. The Jeffrey Lampkin Show will expand on the platform that he has built as a co-host on Good Day and focuses on entertainment and human interest news stories along with special guests and music performances.
